WANT TO THICKEN THE
LAWN AND FILL IN BARE SPOTS OVER THE
WINTER? CALL
US ABOUT WINTER DORMANT SEEDING!!!
Winter dormant seeding is an economical way to thicken your lawn and
fill in bare spots left from last seasons damaging conditions.
The cost is lower than during the growing season because there is
minimal soil preparation that needs done. We take advantage of
the natural freeze/thaw cycle of late winter to work the seed into
the ground. At Easy Acres, you can be sure that we
will select a premium seed that will work well in your
lawn.
ADVANTAGES! 1) Reduced labor costs, saving you as much
as 50% over a Spring or Fall seeding. 2) Research has shown a
roughly 10-15 day earlier germination than with seed sown in the
Spring. 3) Earlier germinating seed allows root system
to more fully develop before the arrival of Summer heat. 4) A
great way to incorporate one of the newer grass varieties to
strengthen and beautify the
lawn.
LIMITATIONS! 1) A higher seeding rate is used due to a lower
germination rate. 2) Crabgrass pre-emergent control is
limited. 3) May not totally fill in larger bare areas such as
those shown in our renovation
photos.

YOUR SPRING CORE-AERATION NOW!! It was
amazing to see how well lawns recovered from last summer's drought
and insect damage after a heavy Fall aeration and
fertilization. If your lawn had insect damage this past summer and
still has a heavy thatch layer (1/2 " or greater), you will want to have
it aerated in Spring of 2006 to reduce thatch before the grub control
application is made. Studies have shown up to 99% of a grub control
product can bind to the thatch layer and never reach the target pest,
resulting in failure of
a costly application.
Please visit our Core-aeration page to learn
more and to schedule service. SPACE IS
LIMITED!!
